"Call me crazy, but I want to buy the Dallas Cowboys end zone and have the star right at the foot of my bed. That way when I score, I can spike the ball right on the star!" -Woody Paige, Around the Horn 10.9.08
Tennessee had a solid draft but the only thing that bothers me is that they didn't go after a solid WR.... But reading some of the things about Chris Johnson don't be shocked if he has a huge year for Tennessee! I believe they're gonna use him for everything! RB, slot WR, and KR.... Can't hate that 4.2 speed

After four years with the Giants, Eli Manning has finally solidified himself as a franchise quarterback who has already taken the team to a Super Bowl title.
So why would the Giants draft a quarterback a few months later? As an investment, of course.
In the sixth round yesterday, the Giants selected Kentucky quarterback Andre' Woodson, a player both general manager Jerry Reese and coach Tom Coughlin said they hope to "develop." Part of the hope is they can "develop" Woodson and, in a few years, trade him for a high draft pick.
It's a strategy several teams with established starters have employed. In 1998, the Packers drafted Matt Hasselbeck in the sixth round to sit behind Brett Favre. Three years later Green Bay included Hasselbeck in a package deal that allowed them to move up seven spots in the first round. The Eagles did the same thing with A.J. Feeley, whom they drafted in the fifth round two years after selecting Donovan McNabb. Eventually, Philly traded Feeley for a second-round pick.
Even the Falcons did it when they picked Matt Schaub in the third round of the 2004 draft and traded him for two second-round picks, though they regretted that move a few weeks later when the Michael Vick dogfighting situation first surfaced.
"There are theories, there's practicality, there's a way in which things are done within a draft and there's a way in which things are done within a roster," Coughlin said. "This is a good, young talented kid who we were really excited about. We drafted him for that purpose and we'll see what the future holds."
The Giants have five quarterbacks on the roster and will take only four to training camp. That means Anthony Wright or former Kentucky starter Jared Lorenzen will soon be cut in favor of the 6-4, 227-pound Woodson, who was once a Heisman candidate and threw 40 touchdowns to only 11 interceptions last season.
"This guy has a strong skill set," Reese said of Woodson, who has a strong arm but needs to work on a quicker delivery. "He was very productive over his years at Kentucky. He can make all the throws and he's a pretty good athlete for that position."
The Giants will visit the White House on Wednesday afternoon for an honorary ceremony with President Bush. TE Jeremy Shockey, who made only a brief appearance at the Super Bowl and skipped the victory parade, is unlikely to join his teammates and coaches in Washington. A team spokesman doubted Shockey will attend and said so far there are no indications he will.
Despite rampant trade rumors, Shockey was not dealt during the draft, though the Buccaneers made a push during the second round on Saturday. Shockey's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has made it clear Shockey will at least welcome a trade, so this situation is far from settled.
The Giants traded up in the fourth round to select Brigham Young OLB Bryan Kehl "because there are so many positive things about him," Reese said. ... The team views Vanderbilt LB Jonathan Goff (fifth round) as a middle LB. Both Goff and Kehl will be expected to contribute on special teams immediately. ... DE Robert Henderson, the team's other sixth-round pick, is a 6-3, 278-pound "developmental kind of a kid," according to Reese. Henderson ran an impressive 4.81 40-yard dash. </div></div>
